In accordance with Florida Statute 101.5612, the public logic and accuracy test of vote tabulating machines will be conducted by the Duval County Canvassing Board on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Duval County Elections Center at the Gateway Mall, 5200-2 Norwood Avenue, in the Equipment Room on the 2nd Floor.

The Canvassing Board, comprised of Board Chairman and Duval County Court Judge Brent D. Shore, Jacksonville City Council Vice President Stephen C. Joost, and Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland, will randomly select 15 vote tabulation machines to be tested.  One machine from each of the City Council’s 14-Districts will be chosen at random, and the 15th machine to be tested will be chosen at random from one of Duval County’s 10 early voting sites.

“We invite any interested voters as well as the media to come to witness these random tests of our election machines, not just to comply with Florida Election Laws, but to continue the long-running tradition of transparency and integrity of our electoral process,” said Duval County Supervisor Of Elections, Jerry Holland.
