It's Like Coming Home: Miss Marva's Caribbean Stone Restaurant |
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Located at 217 W. 8th Street in Historic Springfield is a small, nondescrip Jamaican restaurant, Miss Marva whips up the most AMAZING food one could ever taste, this since 1996. She is welcoming and always gracious when people come in. She is the cook (extroidinaire,) the hostess, the waitress, and the bus"girl." The curry shrimp on rice with cabbage is to die for, that added with her "Mind Your Business Punch," is absolutely delicious. A large "to go" order was enough to enjoy there, and take the rest home for the next day's dinner. Also, in the hot days, she makes "Honey Drippers" that she serves up with a spoon and sells for a buck. I believe earnestly that the best places to dine for dinner are those most wouldn't even dream of taking a chance on. Dream. Go. It's worth it. Promise. Caribbean Stone is open Tues-Saturday from 11 a.m to 11 p.m., she even hosts a drive-up window, call ahead to place your order. 554-9033.
