First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to Host Census Rep

The First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FCHCC) is hosting a data services specialist from the Census Bureau at its May professional networking meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss Hispanic population trends reported in the 2010 Census. The Census reported that Hispanics account for 56 percent of the nation’s growth over the past decade, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. Florida has seen dramatic increases as well.

Mayoral candidate, Alvin Brown, will be attending the event to speak to guests and participate in a meet and greet.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, 225 East Coastline Dr., and is free and open to the public. Visit http://www.fchcc.com/ for tickets or for more information.
