6th Annual Battle of the Bands Offers Teens A Chance to Get Loud in the Library

The Jacksonville Public Library is giving teens a chance at their 15 minutes of fame with the Battle of the Bands. Only a few spots remain to sign up for this free one-of-a-kind competition.

Battle of the Bands offers teens ages 12-18 an opportunity to show off their musical and performance chops live on stage in front of hundreds of spectators, fans, family and friends. Now in its sixth year, this library-sponsored competition allows bands of all musical genres to compete for prizes including gift certificates and studio recording time. Professional sound equipment will be available for use by bands during the competition.

Registration is required. Please fill out the registration form and return it to any library location or e-mail it to teenscene@coj.net. For more information on the competition visit jaxpubliclibrary.org

Special thanks to J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver, Five Star Pizza, Green Team Media, True Tone Recording Studios, Guitars United and The Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library for their generous support. For more details and information on registration, visit jaxpubliclibrary.org.
