Daniel Welcomes New Executive Director of Development

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Daniel will kick-start the New Year by welcoming experienced fundraiser Kellie Ann Salinas as the agency’s new executive director of development. After an extensive local and nationwide search, Daniel’s board selected Salinas based on her impressive fundraising track record and passion for helping children.

“After a long search to find the perfect fit, we are so pleased to welcome Kellie Ann to our team,” said Daniel president and CEO Jim Clark. “Her life experiences, passion for children and work ethic are sure to make her a success at Daniel.”

Salinas’ past experience fundraising for two children’s hospitals was an influential factor in her selection at Daniel. As the development and grants manager at Children’s Hospital of Boston, Salinas not only bolstered fundraising efforts, but she also discovered her passion for working to help children. Salinas followed this passion in her next role in Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Children’s National Medical Center.

Salinas’ fundraising experience extends beyond her work at two children’s hospitals. Before joining Daniel, she worked as the senior director of philanthropy and communications for the Washington Hospital Center Foundation in Washington, D.C. Salinas has also served in development roles with Community Resources for Justice and the Salvation Army Headquarters.

“Working to help children has always been the most satisfying and meaningful aspect of my career,” said Salinas. “I believe my past experiences, both professionally and personally, will help make my transition to Daniel a success.”

Salinas personally relates to Daniel’s work in adoption. As a teenager, Salinas learned that her mother had been adopted when she was 13.  Salinas’ loving relationship with her grandparents before and after this revelation has given her the strong conviction that adoption can be a totally seamless transition.

Salinas earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Nova Southeastern University. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Sociology degree from Bridgewater State College.
