Business

The Northeast Florida Regional Council, in coordination with the Florida Department of Community Affairs Divisions of Emergency Management and Community Planning, and the Florida Department of Transportation, will officially release the Northeast Florida Regional Evacuation Study on Thursday, December 16th at 1:30 p.m.  This event will be held at the University Center at the University of North Florida, located at 12000 Alumni Drive in Jacksonville.

This study was prepared as part of the Statewide Regional Evacuation Study (SRESP), which is a 4-year, $40 million project to update evacuation studies throughout Florida.  This study, which is the final component of a larger statewide effort, updates the Northeast Florida Region’s clearance times, evacuation population and emergency public shelter demand.  Upon its release, this data will impact emergency management operations as well as growth management policy implementation.

The Northeast Florida Regional Council invites all interested parties to attend this study release and especially encourages participation from members of the Emergency Management and Growth Management professions.  For additional information on the official release of the Northeast Florida Regional Evacuation Study, please contact Beth Payne at (904) 279-0885 x133, or epayne@nefrc.org.
