Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast-January 14, 2011 Tickets on Sale Now!

The City of Jacksonville’s 24th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast will be held Friday, Jan. 14 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.  Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the breakfast and program will begin at 7:30 a.m. Parking is free to attendees.    
 
Each year, the city commemorates Dr. King’s life and dream for social change with a breakfast.  This year Mayor John Peyton will serve as the keynote speaker.  Other highlights will include comments from the Jacksonville Urban League, Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, NAACP Jacksonville Branch and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, as well as a presentation of Tomorrow’s Leaders.
 
“The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast is one of our community’s most time-honored traditions, and I am pleased that the City of Jacksonville is taking a lead role in this year’s celebration,” said Mayor Peyton. “By honoring Dr. King’s vision for a better future for all citizens, we will move our community forward and begin to realize racial equity for all.”
 
There is still time to take advantage of the “early bird” discount for individual tickets and tables, which are available until Friday, Dec. 17.  The “early bird” discount price is $20 per individual ticket and $250 for corporate tables.
 
After Friday, Dec. 17 individual tickets may be purchased for $25 per individual ticket and corporate tables will be $300.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Office of Special Events at (904) 630-3690 and more information can be found at www.JaxMLKBreakfast.com.
