The 2010 Horror Film Fest at the 5 Points Theatre will open Friday, October 22nd at 7 pm

The 5 Points Theatre will hold it’s 2010 Horror Film Fest from Friday, October 22nd to Sunday, October 24th at 1028 Park Street in Riverside.  The festival features a mix of classic and new film designed to appeal to horror fans and general movie lowers.  The highlight of the festival will be the classic Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3-D, which was largely shot in nearby Wakulla Springs.  Many Jacksonville residents remember scenes from the sequel, Return of the Creature, being shot downtown at the old Lobster House restaurant.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon – 3-D glasses will be provided!  A scientific expedition searching for fossils along the Amazon River discovers a prehistoric Gill-Man in the legendary Black Lagoon. The explorers capture the mysterious creature, but it breaks free. The Gill-Man returns to kidnap the lovely Kay, fiancée of one of the expedition, with whom it has fallen in love. 

La Horde – A posse of crooked cops, malevolent gangsters and a horde of walking dead are the centre point of this gruesome, tight, action packed, claustrophobic tale of retribution and escape.  

The Beyond – A young woman inherits an old hotel in Louisiana where after a series of supernatural 'accidents', she learns that the building was built over one of the entrances to Hell.  From acclaimed director Lucio Fulci.  On rare & original 35mm film!

The Killing of Jacob Marr – 25 years ago Jacob Marr brutally murdered his family and escaped into the woods and was assumed dead. Now, after someone purchased the old property and fixed it up with an intention on renting it out to vacationers, Jacob returns to find a group of friends staying there for the weekend.  Jacob is not pleased and takes out his revenge on them one by one.

Psycho – The classic 1960 screamer from Alfred Hitchcock.  A young woman steals $40,000 from her employer's client, and subsequently encounters a young motel proprietor too long under the domination of his mother.

Suck - A horror comedy centered on a rock 'n' roll band that will do anything to become famous.  Features cameos from a number of heavy metal stars!

Evil Dead – The classic from Sam Raimi on original and rare 35mm film!  Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons.

House of the Wolfman – Five strangers are invited to a castle under the pretense that one may inherit it. Little do they know what dangers await at the House of the Wolfman.

Human Centipede – Two pretty but ditsy American awaken to find themselves trapped in a terrifying makeshift basement hospital, where a retired surgeon plans to bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy, the human centipede.

Gainesville Ripper – Danny Rolling's serial killings of five college students in 1990 forever changes the college-town of Gainesville, FL.
